Software-defined Wireless Charging using Distributed Beamforming

Developed a prototype of wireless charging system, which uses distributed energy beamforming algorithm implemented in software defined radios. It allows multiple uncoordinated energy transmitters (USRPs B210) to self adjust their transmission so that the net energy transfer to the target receiver is constructive. Code is available at GitHub link

Development of a Testbed for GSM Base Transceiver Station

This project involved implementation of GSM Base Transceiver Station (BTS) by using USRP N210, GNU Radio 3.7 and OpenBTS. After configuring OpenBTS, Asterisk (a VoIP PBX) and sqlite3 on a host PC, real time voice and data (SMS) connectivity was tested using standard GSM handsets.

Spectrum Sculpting for OFDM on Universal Software Radio Peripheral

In this project, we developed a testbed of spectrum sculpting for OFDM using USPR N210 and GNU Radio. Spectrum sculpting allows secondary users to adjust their transmit signal by turning on or off different sets of subcarriers of OFDM signal. Thus, it avoids interference with primary user, lying within the OFDM band

Internet of Things: Smart Irrigation System

Developed a prototype using Raspberry Pi and Arduino to periodically monitor soil moisture and temperature. Using the crop information and weather forecast, the end user were notified via Twitter for appropriate actions.

Distributed Spatial Modulation in Cognitive Relay Network

In this work, a spatial modulation (SM) scheme is implemented in a distributed manner using cognitive radios. An analytical expression for symbol error probability is derived for distributed spatial modulation (DSM) in independent and identically distributed Rayleigh fading channels. A dynamic frequency allocation scheme is proposed to further improve the performance. The MATLAB code is available at this link .
